Ghesc Town for Hornbach “Macher”
The reconstruction of the stone village of Ghesio, also knows as “Ghesc”.
Located in the mountains between Italy and Switzerland, this medieval stone village is seeing a new life since the Canova Organization bought this land in 2010 and made it the center of activities and studies of traditional stone architecture.
Maurizio Cesprini his wife Paola their son Emil and their golden retrieve Otto live in a stone house they bought in Ghesc, the first they restored, and now work to rebuild the whole town with traditional techniques and materials, also with the help of architecture students. This open-air laboratory is a growing community where architecture workshop are held.
